We are never too old to ask for help. We all need it from time to time. Many therapists enjoy the humor, stories, experiences, and wealth of knowledge that older adults have had over their lifetime. I am one of these therapists.

Studies have shown that Teletherapy is very effective for seniors in many ways. Some older people may experience isolation. Some seniors might not be able to get out or have access to modalities of transport to engage in frequent social interactions. Sometimes the death of one’s life partner or other close social supports can leave a person feeling apprehensive to socialize and reach out for relationships. Telehealth affords a person the opportunity to connect within the purview of your own safe place. In my own life, I have witnessed my loved ones deal with medical issues that impacted their daily functioning. I saw the frustration at times as they struggled to adapt to challenges that they were unable to control. If you are struggling with any of these types of issues, I believe I can help you.

I provide individual, couples, family and group outpatient counseling for people of all ages. I work with people who may be struggling with relationship issues, anxiety issues, substance abuse and addiction and behavioral addictions, bullying, conflict resolution, communication, grief loss issues, trauma and PTSD, anger management, adult and childhood ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders. I also assist children and families with parent-child relational issues and behavior modification skill development. Sometimes, grand parents may find themselves raising their grand children. I have worked within the school system, inpatient and outpatient settings, in homes, and emergency rooms. I have trained youth to help peers on a local suicide hotline. If you are struggling with intrusive thoughts, trauma, an emotional issue, or a relationship concern, I believe I can heIp you. Biblical counseling available too. I have personally witnessed individuals who were once homeless, hospitalized or incarcerated turn their lives around and become successful professionals with loving families. I believe that everyone deserves to live the life they’ve always dreamed of. My objective is to help you remove barriers so that you are empowered to reach your goals and dreams.

When I am working with people, I tend to use a strengths-based approach. Seniors are suited very well for this with their wide array of life experiences to build upon. Initially, I will meet with each client for a discussion and assessment and also develop a plan of action to overcome what may be troubling you together. Depending on your situation, I may use different approaches which may include any of the following: • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) • Dialectical Behavior (DBT) • Family / Marital • Family Systems • Motivational Interviewing • Acceptance Commitment Therapy
