There are many transitions throughout life that we experience along our journey. When times get tough, it is important to reach out for support. Sometimes it can be difficult to talk to family because they are busy, or we don’t want to feel like a burden to them. 65 years + can be a time of great transition for many folks, as it is a general milestone of retirement age for working individuals, which is a large transition after being in the workforce for many years of adulthood. For some, there is less time spent with family or feelings of loss of purpose. This can create extra time and space that takes some adjustment, and can sometimes increase feelings of loneliness, isolation, or confusion. I am honored to be part of this transitional time for individuals, focusing on a person-centered, strengths-based practice. You are important and valuable, and I am here to be with you as you share your story. Together, we work towards finding purpose, contentment, and joy, on the next steps of your journey.

Online therapy has been shown to provide effective therapy services, while removing the barriers of transportation, making services more accessible. It can be less intimidating and overwhelming when you can remain in the comfort of your own home, without needing to travel, while still getting help. HIPAA compliant virtual platforms provide confidentiality and comfort, without needing to leave your home! Our staff can help with getting connected to a therapist, and we can meet by the Zoom platform for video sessions, or by phone call if you prefer that choice. Together, we will create a safe space to meet, all based on your comfort level. If you are having any difficulty with online therapy, please just let me know and we will be here to help and support you.
I studied my undergraduate and master’s degree in clinical social work, and completed training in county and hospital settings. I find importance of meeting each client where they are at in their journey. After all, you are the expert of your life! I find it is important to incorporate a whole-body approach in therapy, recognizing how much mental, emotional, and physical health are connected. I have invested time into specific grief-related trainings, and am interested in meeting with folks who feel they might be experiencing grief-related symptoms. Grief can be something we push aside and try to “toughen up” or “move on” from, however it is important to address symptoms we might be experiencing, allow ourselves to feel them and move through them, with kindness and self-compassion, to work towards healing. I am here for you, to be with you during this process.
When we first connect, I will explain in detail what you can expect from the therapy process, and allow time for any questions you might have for me. I will ask you to share about yourself so I can get to know you better. I respect and value your time, and hope to provide a positive therapeutic experience for you. I work actively to create a safe space, for you to feel comfortable sharing about yourself. It takes courage and strength to seek support, and I look forward to learning more about you. We will discuss presenting problems you might be experiencing, and together create a treatment plan to work towards goals you have for yourself. I enjoy incorporating techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a person-centered approach, Narrative Therapy, and other therapeutic approaches based on the individual and their needs at the time. Together, we can explore this further to see what will be the best fit to support you. I look forward to meeting you!
