I graduated from The Cummings Graduate Institute in 2018 with a doctorate degree in behavioral health with a focus on integrated behavior health. I obtained by master of social degree in 2005 from Norfolk State University. I have worked in a variety of setting both inpatient and outpatient, providing individual, family, and group therapy to children/adolescents and adults ages 18 and older. I am licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia and I am a Certified Grief Informed Professional and a Certified Dementia Care Specialist. I have recently been trained to be a MoCA (Montreal Cognitive Assessment) rater. In my last position, I was the regional director for an agency that provided therapeutic day treatment. In my current role, I am not only an outpatient therapist, seeing clients face-2-face and virtually, but also the clinical director for Clinical Services, LLC. It is my hope that by working with TotalLife.com I will be afforded the opportunity to work with and support older adults because I feel this is a segment of the population in which mental health is commonly overlooked.
About I am a Doctor of Behavioral Health and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 17 years of experience of providing mental health services. My experience includes working with a diverse population of individuals ranging in age from 6 years old to over 70. I focus on using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, grief counseling, motivational interviewing, EMDR and EFT/Tapping. I often work with clients experiencing grief and loss, depression, stress, anxiety, and life transitions. In my spare time, I like to read, garden, crochet, watch medical dramas, and play with my three dogs and cat. I believe that health comes from peace of mind.
