Get Started

I enjoy working with seniors because they are one of the most under served populations in terms of mental health; yet, one of the most appreciative of having received services.

Online therapy is effective because of the potential to reach many more people. Many seniors are isolated, disabled, unable to drive, or even to scare to drive. Online therapy is bringing services into the home were most seniors are the most comfortable.

I worked acute inpatient psychiatric for about 6 years before transitioning to more of an outpatient setting. I spent several years working with active duty service members and their dependents. I’ve also worked for an insurance company part of the Medicaid contract in VA. In my last position, I was the Tidewater Regional Director for an agency that provided therapeutic day treatment in the public school system. I have been providing outpatient services since 2020 and work with individuals ages 25 and up with a special focus on active duty service members and seniors.

I use a person-centered approach and allow the client to guide where the session goes. I like to think that my job is to help the client navigate through the ups and downs of life.

I am the parent to six children and grandparent to two. I have been married for 26 years and together we have faced many hurdles raising a blended family. I now have two older sisters and an older brother. I enjoy gardening, crafts, music, reading, and spending time with my two dogs and a cat.
My mom was a psychiatric practical nurse at a state run mental health facility.
I’ve been working with seniors since 2005 when I began working for a free standing psychiatric hospital. I became more involved working with seniors experiencing serious mental illness when a clinical care manager for Aetna Better Health of Virginia where I would conduct in-home assessments and help link seniors to community resources.
