Learn more about Pamela

As an older adult myself, I relate well with other older people. I have lived through many of the experiences in my own life that others are dealing with. I appreciate the wisdom and rich perspective that comes with having lived several decades and welcome the opportunity to assist others on their own personal journey.

I have been providing online therapy services since 2018 and have found this modality to be every bit as effective as in-person therapy. For older adults to be able to obtain services from the privacy of their own homes, and without concern about having to travel to an office, makes therapy extremely convenient and available for some who otherwise might not be able to obtain services.

My initial approach is to be friendly, welcoming and respectful as I learn about a new client. This involves listening attentively, observing body language and expressions, and adjusting my approach as needed as we build rapport. Creating a safe therapeutic relationship is the foundation of all that follows. In follow-up sessions I continue to listen and observe as we work at the client’s pace to explore the issues, seek new insights, develop coping strategies and work toward goals.

Starting anything new can be intimidating. And talking with a stranger about your personal life can seem strange at first. Please know that therapy provides a safe space where you can be open and honest about your thoughts, feelings and actions, without the fear of being judged. The more open you are with your therapist, the more they can help you. Your therapist is a collaborator and will work with you to help achieve the best results for you.
