Learn more about Debbie

For the majority of my career I have worked with the senior adult population. I especially enjoy being able to help seniors with areas that have a profound impact on their mental health. These issues include health issues, depression, grief/loss, and life transitions. I feel that if you can have an empathetic therapist to work with you can be able to work through whatever is affecting your quality of life.

Therapy is effective for seniors because they are in the season of reflection, and have the life lessons and wisdom to draw from.

I graduated from University of North Carolina with a Master in Social Work degree in 2001. I graduated from Biblical Theological Seminary with. Master in Counseling degree in 2015. I have been a social worker in non-profits since 2001, and in counseling since 2014.

I have a person centered, compassionate, and trauma informed approach to therapy, taking into consideration each individual’s unique history of experiences and goals that brought them into therapy. I utilized evidence based practices such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma focused, and solution focused therapy. I also love to provide Christian counseling or Biblical counseling for individuals who desire for their faith to be incorporated into the session.
