Meet Amanda
I hold a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, a Master of Science in Social Work, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. My training has provided a strong foundation in both psychological assessment and evidence-based therapeutic care, allowing me to support clients with clinical depth, emotional precision, and practical strategy.
I have over 20 years of experience in behavioral health and mental health services across clinical, medical, and therapeutic settings. My background includes psychotherapy, crisis intervention, behavioral health assessment, and supporting adults through anxiety, burnout, grief, life transitions, relational stress, and emotional overwhelm. My work is grounded in helping high-functioning adults build clarity, emotional resilience, and sustainable internal stability.
What I enjoy most about working with older adults is the depth, perspective, and honesty they bring into the therapeutic space.
Q&A with Amanda
Getting to know Amanda
What do you enjoy most about working with older adults?
What I enjoy most about working with older adults is the depth, perspective, and honesty they bring into the therapeutic space. Older adults often carry a rich life history, significant resilience, and a level of insight that allows for meaningful and grounded therapeutic work.
I value the opportunity to help older adults process life transitions, grief, identity shifts, caregiving stress, changing relationships, and the emotional impact of aging with dignity and clarity. This stage of life often brings reflection, loss, and reevaluation, but it can also create space for healing, self-understanding, and renewed meaning.
I also appreciate supporting older adults in navigating change while honoring the life they have lived. The work is often thoughtful, and centered on helping clients feel seen, supported, and emotionally steady in a season of life that deserves care and respect.
Why does online therapy work well for older adults?
Online therapy is effective for older adults because it makes mental health support more accessible, especially for those managing mobility, transportation, health, or caregiving challenges. It also allows clients to engage in therapy from the comfort and privacy of home, which often helps them feel more at ease and open in session.
When therapy is easy to access and consistent, older adults are more likely to stay engaged and benefit from the support.
How do you approach therapy sessions?
I approach therapy as a collaborative and structured process that helps clients better understand what they are experiencing, why it is happening, and how to respond more effectively. My style is warm, direct, and thoughtful, with a focus on emotional insight, practical strategy, and meaningful change. I work to create a space where clients feel supported, challenged, and clear enough to move forward with greater confidence and stability.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, structured, and insight-driven. I help clients understand not only what they are feeling, but also the underlying patterns, beliefs, and experiences shaping those emotional responses. Therapy with me is both supportive and practical—I focus on helping clients build emotional clarity, strengthen coping skills, improve self-awareness, and make meaningful, sustainable changes in how they think, respond, and move through life.

My Family
What is your advice for someone starting therapy for the first time?
Be open, have courage to be honest, and give yourself permission not to have everything figured out before you begin. You do not need to show up perfectly! therapy works best when you show up honestly. The goal is not to have all the answers in the first session, but to begin understanding yourself more clearly and give yourself space to be supported.
What do you wish people knew about therapy?
I wish more people understood that therapy is not a quick fix or a perfectly linear process. Growth in therapy often comes in waves—some sessions feel clarifying, some feel uncomfortable, and some may feel slower than expected, but all of that can still be part of meaningful progress. Therapy is less about “fixing” yourself and more about building insight, learning new ways to respond, and creating lasting change over time.
Be open, have courage to be honest, and give yourself permission not to have everything figured out before you begin.
I A fun fact about me is that I genuinely enjoy helping people reconnect with themselves in ways that feel both practical and meaningful—and I have a deep appreciation for travel, fragrance, and great food as part of what makes life feel rich and restorative.
